I just realized that I'm far behind as far as journals go. Have you all been rejoicing in my absence?

I also realize that I've been slacking on pictures, especially requests. I've been really busy, obviously. It's been a while since I've truly gotten enough sleep on a school day. There's always one thing or another to worry about... My Spanish class buddy is right now badgering me to stop stressing out. *grins* Maybe I should take his advice.

As far as extra-curricular stuff goes, I'm in track, play the viola, sing, baby-sit, ride horses, and do the occasional community service. *nods* Yes, I'm busy. We had a track meet just today, and one last week. My 100 meters aren't very good... I've gotten second and fifth (in a higher heat). In 200 I've always been in higher heats; today I ran first heat JV. I've gotten second and fourth. The only race I kick rumpies at is the 200 relay. Last week I closed 10 meters between me and the girl in front, and today I overtook a varsity and a JV runner from 5 meters behind. This is why you eat ramen noodles. They make you run fast in relays, as I discovered. I was happy about that, but I'm still bewildered as to why my relays beat my normal races.

My issue is that I'm not so much a sprinter anymore. I'm better at long distance (I'm not good at it, but it's easy to improve at long d if you're bad), and that's all I've practiced. I run like a fool, taking humongous strides and doing ridiculous things like looking back, tripping on the blocks, and starting slow. XD

Fire says: I run hurdles, obviously. I'm pretty bad, but at least I'm not a sprinter (hurdlers make fun of sprinters a lot... *grins*)! Last meet I finished second to last in 55 meter hurdles, and the same thing happened again this time, though this race I only ran against 2 other people anyway.

I'm much better at the 200 meter hurdles. I got 3rd in the first heat (the good hurdlers' race), then fourth, then was demoted to 2nd heat, and today placed 2nd! Yay! I also got a Personal Record by 2 seconds today, which is pretty awesome! And by the way... I am the JV triple jump team, which amuses me to no end. (there's only 1!)

Back to you, Fearn: Fire sucks.

Riding doesn't though. I've finally started cantering! Yay! Except I suck, but who cares! I've gotten better at leg yielding and sitting trot too. My major issue is being too soft with the reins. I'll be strong with my legs, but as my riding instructor says, when I'm using the reins, it's as if I'm saying, "Oh please, Cal, move over to the left. Please do, my dear." She calls it yoga riding. I'm not aggressive enough (apparently loads of people are too aggressive, though).

Switching to a completely new topic, I think that lunch ladies are horrible! Today I was trying to get a sandwich, and the lunch lady freaked out at me and started shouting that I needed to get milk or juice and vegetables as well, or I'd have to pay extra! After a brief argument in which I pointed out that I had a track meet, I wasn't hungry, I was already getting water, and there were vegetables in my sandwich, I gave up. I didn't want to be wasteful, either, so I ended up having to stuff myself on food I didn't want in the first place. I talked to the principal about it (I was pretty steamed), and all he said was to write a letter. *snorts* Like that'd do any good. That's just a ploy to get me to write unnecessarily. *scowls*

I'm done spewing now! Yay!
